We are looking for a LSIT to fill a field surveying position in the Monterey - Santa Cruz area.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT - Land Surveying Technician
Position is for both a Summer Intern and a Full time position
Polaris Consulting offers a wide range of land surveying, boundary and mapping services. We are a small family owned and operated company in Monterey County, California. We provide surveying services to individuals, companies and public agencies.
We are currently seeking a Land Surveying Technician. Our surveying technicians work under the supervision of a licensed Land Surveyor. The technicians assist in obtaining and computing data relevant to property boundaries and topographic mapmaking. The survey technician works in both the field and office. Duties include serving as an assistant on the field crew, conducting research of record maps and deeds, preparing maps and exhibits and assisting in the maintenance and storage of field equipment. This is a full range of experience which will assist you on the track to obtaining your license.
Requirements include a combination of experience and education. An LSIT or EIT certification is required for this position.
This is expected to be a full time position in the field performing field surveys as a chainman. The current project is a prevailing wage job. (non-union) The position will be working with Caltrans crews on an on call basis. Currently this work is expected to last through the summer.
There is a possibility of working in other positions in house, if the Caltrans work is not requested.

The wage rate is Prevailing Wage when working with Caltrans.
The normal wage rate is dependent on experience.
