We are looking for a PLS interested in an exciting hands-on position overseeing the survey department projects as well as producing survey work.
*NOTE* - Ideally we would like this person to sit in our Reno, NV office but we are now considering this person for our Sacramento, CA office.
Wood Rodgers’ Reno office has an excellent Survey Manager opportunity. This full-time role will manage and oversee survey department mapping projects including production, scheduling, budgets and managing mapping survey technicians. The successful candidate will be a professional land surveyor registered in the state of Nevada with previous management and land surveying experience. This is a good opportunity for a survey manager who enjoys managing and motivating survey staff and ensuring quality survey projects are done on schedule.

What you will be doing
Oversee survey department mapping projects including project scheduling, budgets and billing.
Performs business development to secure additional survey projects.
Supervise and positively motivate survey mapping technicians and field survey staff for quality project delivery.
Plan and coordinate work of field survey staff performing boundary surveys.
Manage work load, staffing and quality control for mapping related survey efforts
Develop and mentor staff
Project management, including management of budget, scope and schedule for small, moderate and large land survey projects
Coordinate survey efforts with other groups in an integrated services environment
Preparing and managing survey projects related to subdivision mapping, parcel mapping, boundary line adjustments, right-of-way mapping, ALTA surveys and legal descriptions.
What it takes
Must be very knowledgeable in all aspects of Land Surveying, especially boundary resolution and preparing maps in various jurisdictions in Nevada
Strong office computer skills (e.g. Autodesk Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, word, excel);
Familiarity with local mapping requirements, zoning requirements, ALTA Standards, PLSS surveys and Nevada Revised State Statutes;
Excellent AutoCAD Civil 3D skills with styles, codes, feature lines and surfaces;
Ability to assist construction layout services and topographic mapping;
Must be able to go to the field as needed and proficiently lead a crew or solve technical issues;
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; and
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
10 plus years of experience in Land Surveying;
Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field;
Nevada Professional Land Surveyor license, or ability to obtain one in 6-9 months.
CFedS license is a plus.
