The Sonoma County Water Agency (Sonoma Water) seeks an experienced and resourceful Licensed Land Surveyor!

Reporting to the Water Agency Land Surveyor, the Licensed Land Surveyor is an integral member of the Survey and Right of Way team at Sonoma Water. The Survey and Right of Way Section of the Engineering and Resource Planning Division provides integrated Land Surveying and Right of Way services in support of Sonoma Water's Capital Improvement Program, ongoing operations and maintenance, and a variety of critical monitoring, mitigation, and restoration initiatives.

Typical responsibilities and assignments include:
• Scheduling, coordinating, outlining, and communicating specifications, procedures, guidelines, assignments, and expectations for the work of assigned personnel and survey crews
• Refining, improving, and implementing quality control and quality assurance processes, procedures, and standards
• Providing supervision, oversight, direction, training, and mentoring of personnel
• Ensuring that instrumentation, software, and data processing systems are up to date and functioning correctly
• Conducting tailgate safety briefings and ensuring that vehicles, tools, and consumable materials needed for efficient, effective, and safe field operations and work environments are available, appropriate, and in place for all field operations
• Processing, reviewing, and compiling collected field data to assure conformance with quality control standards and requirements for deliverable products and services
• Providing status reports and day-to-day updates of assigned responsibilities to the Water Agency Land Surveyor
The ideal candidate for this position will possess:
• Significant experience directing the work of technicians in the capacity of a professional Land Surveyor in responsible charge
• The technical knowledge and capabilities needed to maximize the efficiencies and capabilities of state-of-the-art surveying and mapping technology, systems, and techniques
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• A collaborative, team player approach to problem-solving and interaction
• The ability to establish and adapt computer aided drafting standards, implement field to finish data processing and automation, install and configure software, and develop templates necessary to produce professional quality deliverable products
• Strong organizational skills
