Position Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Senior Survey Technician in the Department of Public Works. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, responsible for coordination, direction, supervision, and leadership of Public Works survey crews performing skilled engineering and land surveying projects; and performs related duties as assigned.

External candidates, probationary full-time, part-time, and temporary City of Henderson employees will start at the first step of the salary range.

Minimum Qualifications
•Associates degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Survey Technology or closely related field.
•Five (5) years of experience performing progressively complex survey duties.
•Previous experience must have included two (2) years of performing at a journey level survey position.
•Registration as a Land Surveying Intern (LSI) at time of appointment.
•Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
•Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered in lieu of the required education. One such equivalency is two (2) years of experience as a Survey Technician II for the City of Henderson.
•Desirable: Registration as a Nevada Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).
